Barberino val d’Elsa is situated just outside of the traditional boundaries of Chianti, but this little town merits its ranking in the area of great wines. This was one of the the towns we stayed in during our trip. Small and quaint, it is the definition of a picturesque hamlet. The village has not changed the ancient structure throughout the centuries.
