Siena is located in the central part of Tuscany, in the middle of a vast, breathtakingly beautiful, hilly landscape. Like other Tuscan hill towns, it was first settled in the time of the Etruscans (c. 900–400 BC) We visited the Siena Cathedral (Duomo) a masterpiece of Italian Romanesque-Gothic architecture. We lunched in the open-air Piazza del Campo which is in the heart of the city. It’s a huge square and is considered one of Europe’s greatest medieval squares. We loved all the sights, sounds, and smells of this charming town. Read more here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siena
